An Evolving Collection,
Still Being Built
The High Iron Collection will hold the oral histories, photographs, and stories gathered at every stop on the tour — a growing, public record of the people who built Wyoming. It's being shaped right now through community archiving, in conversation with the families and communities High Iron travels to honor.
We're in the middle of community archiving — sitting with families, recording oral histories, and gathering photographs from descendants and elder railroaders along the I-80 corridor.
A searchable, public archive of recorded stories, historical photographs, and community documentation — built with the people it represents, not just about them.
Have a story, photograph, or family history connected to Wyoming's railroad or mining communities? We'd love to hear from you — reach out.
