There are many parallels between the history of photography and the history of the transcontinental railroad. This workshop, with artist Conor Mullen and Ryan Archibald, will explore those overlaps through a look back at nineteenth century photo techniques and a variety of present-day photo activities at the boxcar. Participants will have access to cameras, instant-print film, fine art papers, and other materials for making photo collages, stereograph cards, and hand-sewn photo booklets. The workshop will conclude with a supper inspired by life around Wyoming’s historic “end-of-track” towns.
